I grew up watching the Barrett-Jackson auctions on tv live from Scottsdale, Arizona. When I found out they were bringing America's best collector car auction to Connecticut for the first time in 2016 I knew I had to be there. The event did not disappoint. Outside on the grounds of Mohegan Sun Casino you could peruse the rows and rows of cars that were scheduled to go across the auction block. Out back you could hop in a Shelby GT350, Dodge Hellcat, or Chevy Corvette with a professional driver for the ride of your life on a hot lap around a track set up in the parking lot. Inside the Ford Performance display I got to check out the new Ford GT and a short walk back toward the auction block Shelby American had their latest offerings on display, including the Hertz Shelby GT350H that was auctioned for charity. What I wouldn't give for a chance to drive that Super Snake though! The auction block was hot all weekend with something for everyone. Register to bid or buy a general admission ticket just to experience the auction in person.

If you didn't make it out to the first one there's some good news. Barrett-Jackson has a deal to return to CT for a total of 5 years. Don't miss it!
